321 A native son of Santa Barbara, Robert P. Senn has an innate understanding of Southern Californian architecture. Consistently delivering impeccable, authentic design, his firm, Santa Barbara Architecture, specializes in traditional architecture including Tuscan, Spanish Colonial Revival, French, and English Country, as well as American Vernacular styles, such as Craftsman and Cape Cod. His firm also draws from classic estates of the '20s and '30s, which gave birth to the most exquisite residential architecture in Southern California. Robert's formal education includes a bachelor's degree in environmental design at the University of Colorado and a Master of Architecture at the University of Washington in Seattle, after which he returned to Santa Barbara, where he has designed luxury estates for more than 25 years. With a strong belief that traditional architecture is timeless, Santa Barbara Architecture honors the look and feel of traditional European homes by incorporating courtyards, loggias, thick walls, arches, beamed and vaulted ceilings, old world hardware, and antique finishes. The firm's focus is to create authentic homes and gardens that, when finished, have the look and feel of an historic property. Authenticity is the pinnacle goal of every project, as Robert feels that it is critical for his homes to be faithful to their historical style, and they balance modern amenities and today's lifestyles.
